ExxonMobil: Corporate Action to Open the Year 2007
Yogyakarta, January 2007. ExxonMobil as one of “Friends of Habitat” opened the year 2007 by sending 46 employees and their families to participate in volunteering program to help housing reconstruction for earthquake survivors in Meijing and Caben Village, Bantul District, Yogyakarta.
Mr. Peter J. Coleman, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc. (EMOI), who also participated in the activity said, “As a part of its disaster relief assistance, ExxonMobil contributed to rehabilitation programs for earthquake victims in Yogyakarta and Central Java. This activity is one of our ways of channeling ExxonMobil employees' interest in social works as well as to be directly involved in the company's community development programs.. For us, it is and opportunity to give something more tangible back to the communities.”
In addition to the Corporate Volunteer Action, ExxonMobil contributed US$ 200,000 through Habitat for Humanity Indonesia Yogyakarta Disaster Response Project in Meijing and Caben Village, Bantul District.
