Corporate commit to CSR through Habitat’s Love Indonesia Programs

Jakarta, 21 September, 2006 – A high-profile breakfast for CEOs and captains of industry today highlighted non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity Indonesia’s “Love Indonesia Programs (LIPs)” to provide housing solutions for more than 25,000 families in Indonesia by 2009.

Over breakfast sponsored by JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, about fifty top management representatives heard from Mr Franciscus Welirang, Vice President of PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. on leveraging corporate social responsibility for corporate success. Guests were also enlightened by Mr. Stuart L. Dean, President of GE South East Asia, a long-term corporate supporter of Habitat in Indonesia, described about closed partnership between GE and Habitat.

The breakfast meeting was continued by presentation by HFH Indonesia National Director, Handoko Ngadiman about various activities of Habitat Indonesia. The meeting was marked by signing LIPS poster among representatives of Habitat, JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta and Secretary of State Ministry of Public Housing on behalf of the Indonesian government.

Finally, existing and potential corporate partners of Habitat for Humanity Indonesia that attended the CEO power breakfast were invited to make and lay bricks of wooden house to create a model Habitat home as a demonstration of their commitment to be socially responsible on a corporate level.
